Las Vegas is seeing a notable drop in tourism with 13 million visitors from January to April 2025, marking a 6–12% decline from last year. Room prices on the Strip have slightly decreased, but rising resort fees at properties like Circus Circus and Waldorf Astoria have driven up the total cost of staying, discouraging some travelers from visiting altogether.
In response, casinos are offering perks like free parking and waived resort fees to attract guests. Resorts World and The Strat are among those making changes, while locals benefit from the new “Locals Unlocked” program. Meanwhile, Dolly Parton is making a historic return to the Vegas stage with a six-show residency at Caesars Palace this December.
Major changes are also hitting real estate and dining, with a new $1.75B stadium breaking ground and top chef James Trees revamping Rio’s iconic steakhouse. Amid rising costs and corporate fees like MGM’s new $25 room service surcharge, many question if Vegas is still worth the price.
